Because all casual clothing is not suitable for the salon
teaching facilities, these guidelines will help you determine what is
appropriate to wear to school. Clothing that works well for the beach, yard
work, dance clubs, exercise sessions, and sports contests may not be appropriate
for a professional appearance at school.
Clothing that reveals too much cleavage, your back, your
chest, your feet, your stomach or your underwear is not appropriate for a place
of business nor studies.
Even in a business casual work environment, clothing should
be pressed and never wrinkled.
Torn, dirty, or frayed clothing is
unacceptable. All seams must be finished. Any clothing that has words, terms, or
pictures that may be offensive to other employees is unacceptable. Clothing that
has the company logo is encouraged. Sports team, university, and fashion brand
names on clothing are generally acceptable.
Certain days can be declared dress down days, generally
Fridays. On these days, jeans and other more casual clothing, although never
clothing potentially offensive to others, are allowed. Management will
communicate these dates to all students.
Slacks that are similar to Dockers and other makers of
cotton or synthetic material pants, wool pants, flannel pants, dressy capris, and
nice looking dress synthetic pants are acceptable. Inappropriate slacks or pants
include jeans, sweatpants, exercise pants, Bermuda shorts, short shorts, shorts,
bib overalls, leggings, and any spandex or other form-fitting pants such as
people wear for biking.
Casual dresses and skirts, and skirts that are split at or
below the knee are acceptable. Dress and skirt length should be at a length at
which you can sit comfortably in public. Short, tight skirts that ride halfway
up the thigh are inappropriate for work. Mini-skirts are inappropriate for the
salon and school.
Casual shirts, dress shirts, sweaters, tops, golf-type
shirts, and turtlenecks are acceptable attire for work. Most suit jackets or
sport jackets are also acceptable attire for the office, if they violate none of
the listed guidelines. Inappropriate attire for work includes tank tops; midriff
tops; shirts with potentially offensive words, terms, logos, pictures, cartoons,
or slogans; halter-tops; tops with bare shoulders; sweatshirts, and t-shirts
unless worn under another blouse, shirt, jacket, or dress.
Conservative athletic or walking shoes, loafers, clogs,
sneakers, boots, flats, dress heels, and leather deck-type shoes are acceptable
for work. Wearing no stockings is acceptable in warm weather. Flashy athletic
shoes, thongs, flip-flops, slippers, and any shoe with an open toe are not
acceptable in the salon or school.
Should be in good taste, with limited visible body piercing.
Remember, that some employees are allergic to the chemicals in perfumes and
make-up, so wear these substances with restraint.
Hats are not appropriate in the salon or school. Head
covers that are required for religious purposes or to honour cultural tradition
are allowed.

DISPUTE RESOLUTION POLICY & PROCEDURE
Policy:
Individuals should always try to resolve issues informally.
If a more formal approach becomes necessary, the institution provides a
fair and reasonable mechanism for resolution.
Procedure:
First try to resolve the issue directly with the other party.
If this doesn’t work please arrange a meeting with the school’s
administrator or owner to resolve issue.
OR
Put your complaint in writing to the school’s administrator.
He/She will request submissions from all involved parties, including
witnesses; conduct an investigation and set up a meeting within 48 hours.
The school’s administrator will provide a written decision to all
parties within 48 hours. A
reasonable solution will be found and advised in writing within 24 hours of the
decision.
Should these solutions not resolve the dilemma, management may request an
outside mediator to assist. All
fees involved in the mediation will be borne by the school at 50% and by the
student at 50% (payable at the onset of the mediation to ensure total payment is
received before proceeding).

required to make up for monies due under the contract. 3.
Refund policy
for students: a)
Refunds before
the program of study begins: 1.
If written
notice of withdrawal for any reason is received by the institution less
than seven (7) calendar days after the contract is made, and before the
commencement of the period of instruction specified in the contract, the
institution may retain the lesser of 10% of the total fees due under the
contract or $200. If
textbooks and kit have been paid for in full, but have not been delivered
to the student, the institution will refund these costs, less a 5% return
fee. If the textbooks and kit

complete kit to the institution and the institution will refund these
costs, less a 10% restocking fee. 2.

subsection (a) (i), if written notice of withdrawal for any reason is
received by the institution thirty (30) calendar days or more before the
commencement of the period of instruction specified in the contract, the
institution may retain the lesser of 10% of the total fees due under the
contract, or $500. If textbooks and kit have been paid for in full and
have been delivered to the student, the textbooks and complete kit must be
returned in excellent condition to the institution, who will refund the
money paid for these, less a 5% return fee.
If the student has not picked up or has not been delivered the
textbooks and/or kit, the institution will refund the cost of the textbook
and kit, retaining a 5% fee. 3.
Subject to
subsection (a) (i), if written notice of withdrawal for any reason is
received by the institution less than thirty (30) calendar days before the

specific minimum requirements for admission, the institution must refund
all fees paid under the contract, less the applicable non-refundable
application or registration fee. b)
Where an

student, and the student withdraws or is dismissed, the institution may
charge the student for the equipment or use of the equipment on a cost
